ßlade's computer caught virusWritten by SpugSome time in October 2001, ßlade's PC was infected by a virus. This virus 'deleted' both his CD-ROM drives (so the PC couldn't find them), it made the PC lag and crash every half a minute, and later when you tried to start Windows again, it would read 'Windows Protection Error' and freeze. But that wasn't all if it; all HTML documents were screwed and he couldn't run any executable files on his D: drive (partition hard drive). And of course, if he inserted any diskette in his floppy drive that diskette would be infected as well, which almost caused Spug's PC to get infected as well... Lucky he had an anti-virus program, then! Unfortunately, ßlade didn't... ßlade had a lot of projects going on there, which were lost. I can mention, Kenny Killer (which was released as a beta version and thus is downloadable in that format, but can't be continued because of the virus), Kenny's Mission, Car O Rama (a car game), RPG's RPG Adventure and many, many more. ßlade formatted his hard drive to get rid of the virus, but at that moment he lost everything he had, everything he had ever made. If he had made any backups after he realised his PC was infected, the backup would still be infected, so that was no use... A friend got ßlade Windows ME after some time, and ßlade was up and going again, and I gave him Multimedia Fusion Express and stuff. The biggest loss was RPG's RPG Adventure, which was quickly restarted. But ßlade the genius wanted to install his mouse after the format, and it showed up that he had used the install diskette while the PC was infected, and thus, the disk was also infected. And voila, the PC went down again. And this is where we are now, as of 1st Desember 2001. ßlade will some day get Windows ME again and start to resurrect the PC again, and then he'll probably insert some infected disk again, and we'll start all over again. -- Spug, 1st of Desember |
